Questions
What families ask us most
Do you take my insurance?
We are in network with most PPO plans and out of network with the rest. We do not bill Medicare, and we do not take Medicaid. If we are not the right fit for your plan, we will give you the names of practices that are. How fees work has the details.
What is a superbill, and how do I use it?
It is an itemized monthly receipt with the dates and kinds of session. You send it to your plan, which may reimburse part of out-of-network care. It carries a diagnosis code your insurer can see, and your plan decides whether it pays anything.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of what your care will cost before you start. If the final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
How much does it cost, and how do fees work?
Your fee depends on whether you use insurance and on the kind of session. We give you the number in writing before you start, so you never find out at the front desk.
Can I use an HSA or FSA card?
Yes. You can pay at the end of each session with an HSA or FSA card, as you would any other card.
What happens in the first session?
The adults meet the clinician first, then the teen meets them alone, and the last few minutes are for everyone together. It is a conversation, not a test, and nobody has to tell a whole story.
How often do we meet, and for how long?
Sessions are 50 minutes, and most families meet every week or every other week at the start. Your clinician sets the pace with you and changes it when your family's life changes.
Are you licensed where I live?
Our clinicians are licensed in Georgia. For video sessions, the person in therapy needs to be in Georgia during the session. Each clinician's page shows the license they hold.
What do I do in a crisis?
Call or text 988, any time, or call 911 in an emergency. We do not monitor messages around the clock, so please do not use this site to reach us in a crisis.
What is confidential, and what are the limits?
What your teen says stays between them and their clinician, with limits we explain at the first session: a risk of serious harm, abuse or neglect we are required to report, and a court order.
Can you see my teen, and how does consent work?
Yes, ages 13 to 19. For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian signs the consent before the first session. For a child in foster care, we ask for the paperwork from the person or agency that holds that authority.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours' notice to change or cancel a session, by phone or email. Families with a court date, a visit with a caseworker or a sick child: tell us, and we work it out.
Something we did not answer?
Write to us, and a person answers within one business day.
