What to expect

Your first session

A first session is a conversation, not a test. It lasts 50 minutes for a teen or parent session, and 60 for a family.

  1. Step 1: Before you come

You get your fee in writing, and a link to our intake forms on our own portal. A parent or legal guardian signs the consent. Please do not send medical details through this website.

  2. Step 2: The adults first

The adults talk with the clinician for about fifteen minutes: who lives at home, what has changed, what you hope is different.

  3. Step 3: Your teen, on their own

Your teen meets the clinician alone. They do not have to tell a story. The clinician explains what stays private and the limits.

  4. Step 4: Everyone together

The last few minutes are for everyone, to agree on what comes next and who comes to the next session.

When it ends

The clinician tells you what they heard and suggests a plan. You can say no, ask for a different clinician or take a week to think.

About the first session

Does my teen have to talk?

No. Many first sessions are about what the hour is for and what is off the table.

Who will we see?

We suggest a clinician when you write to us. You can ask to meet someone else if the fit is not right.

Is there anything to prepare?

Nothing special. Tell us if anything would make the visit easier, such as a video session. Our clinicians are licensed in Georgia.

Ready to schedule?

Write to us and tell us how to reach you.
