Eleanor Clayton

Therapist and founder

Parent and caregiver sessions, and family sessions with Anibal.

Eleanor works with parents, stepparents and relatives raising children who came to them through a new marriage, a court order or a family emergency. She meets the adults first and lets the household set the pace.

She explains each step before it happens, including what the first sessions will and will not cover, and she checks in with every adult at the start and end of each session.

Eleanor's approach

Eleanor listens before she suggests anything, and tells you why she is suggesting it. Nothing she suggests is meant to be done all at once.

Ways of working

  • Parent sessions

Just the adults, with time to ask the questions you do not want to ask in front of a child.

  • Kinship and foster care

Help with the first weeks, the routines and the paperwork that comes with a child arriving.

  • Family sessions

With Anibal, when the household is ready to sit at one table.
